IDEAL WEEK PLANNER v4.2
The Six P’s of Time · Work to live, not live to work
Open CalendarOpen Power QTR

The LifeScaping Guide

Designing your life with intention, balance, and purpose. This planner turns what your LifeScaping assessments revealed into a real week: when you rest, who you are with, and how your work fits around what matters most.

1. Learn the Six P’sRead Time Philosophy to see how time serves your life.
2. List valued activitiesIn Activities, name what you want in each of the 12 life areas and tag its P.
3. Design your ideal weekPlace Personal, People, and Peers time first, then the functional modes.
4. Focus the quarterBring in your Power QTR habits and give each a home in the week.

How the Planner Works With Your Assessments

Sacred Balance Wheel → where to focus

Your lowest-scoring categories are marked as focus areas in the Activities tab. Many people give Month 1 of the quarter to their lowest area, then add the next while keeping the first.

Power QTR → one habit per month

Each monthly goal from Power QTR appears in the This Quarter tab with its Six P’s color, so you can place it right onto your week.

Stewardship & Governing Purpose → why it matters

Your stewardship patterns show which resources are building or burning; your governing purpose tells you what your time is for. Let both shape what earns a place in your week.
Strategic focus: work on one or two priorities at a time. Trying to fix everything at once usually fixes nothing. The ideal week keeps every life area in view while your quarter focuses your energy.

The 12 Sacred Balance Categories

What helps a plan stick

  • Leave white space. Don’t schedule every hour; margin makes the plan livable.
  • Anchor new habits to existing routines (“after my morning coffee, I…”), same time and place.
  • Consistency beats intensity. New routines take about 66 days on average to feel automatic, and a missed day does not reset progress (Lally et al., 2010).
  • Review weekly. A short Sunday review keeps the model and real life in conversation.
Remember: you are designing a life, not just managing a calendar. Assessment without action is just information. Action without assessment is just busyness. Together, they create transformation.

The Six P’s of Time

Work to live, not live to work.

The legacy question

Near the end of life, people often say they wish they had not worked so hard and had stayed closer to the people they love (Ware, 2012). The longest-running study of adult life found that the quality of our relationships is one of the strongest predictors of health and happiness as we age (Waldinger & Schulz, 2023). Let your week reflect that.

The Math of Your Week

Total hours in a week168168
Sleep (about 8 hours a night)−56112
Daily routines (getting ready, meals, transitions)−12100
Productivity (work, responsibilities, obligations)−5050
Time left to truly live your life50

About 50 hours a week for Personal restoration, People connection, and Peers community. Those hours shape what you will remember.

Two Lenses, One Life

The Sacred Balance Wheel answers what needs attention (four elements, 12 categories). The Six P’s answer how you are spending time. Any P can serve any category: Personal time might feed your spirit (meditation), heart (journaling), mind (reading), or body (a solo walk).

Relational Modes: who you are with

PERSONALMellow Yellow · Self. Solo restoration, self-care, the light at the center of the wheel.
PEOPLERoyal Violet · My Peeps. Partner, family, the 2-5 people you would call at 3 a.m.
PEERSOrange Aid · Community. Faith community, groups, teams, serving your tribe.

Functional Modes: what you are doing

PLANNINGBlue Sky · Working on your life: strategy, reflection, reviews, goal-setting.
PREPARATIONRed Tape · Setup and maintenance: admin, errands, organizing, learning skills.
PRODUCTIVITYGreen Machine · Roles and responsibilities: career, household, caregiving, service.

The key insight

Schedule the relational modes first. Block Personal, People, and Peers time before filling in Productivity. If work goes in first, relationships get the scraps.
“Personal makes everything possible. People make everything meaningful. Productivity makes everything sustainable.”
