How this works. Your ACE score — the count from your ACE questionnaire in TherapyNotes — measures early adversity. This tool sets it beside the other half of the story: the positive experiences and present-day strengths that buffer that adversity. Both matter; only one of them is fixed.

An ACE score is not a diagnosis and not a destiny. It describes what happened to you, not who you are or how your story ends. The research is clear that protective experiences soften the effects of adversity — even when the adversity was high — and that they can be built at any age.

1 · Your ACE Score

From your ACE questionnaire in TherapyNotes — a count of early adversity, not a verdict.

You survived every experience in this number. That took something — and this tool is about naming it.

2 · Positive Childhood Experiences

Check the ones that felt true for you growing up (before age 18). Count what was there.

3 · Your Strengths Now

Resilience is built, not just inherited. Check what is true in your life today.

Your survival is evidence. Let’s make it visible.

5 · One Protective Factor to Grow

Protective experiences can be added at any age. Choose one to strengthen this month — small and specific.
